from Nana and Grandpa. We had a wonderful visit, despite all of the
rain. Nana came in on August 14th. Mason was excited to pick her up
at the airport. Nana was able to see how much Mason has grown and
what a crazy almost 3 year old he is becoming. He kept her very busy.
Grandpa drove up the following Monday and arrived on his birthday.
He got in while Mason was napping. When Mason woke up, their dog,
Sophie, came up to greet him. Mason said, "Grandpa brought me my
Sophie." He absolutely adores their dog and considers her to be his.
Grandpa stayed very busy while he was here. He helped me refinish
my kitchen table. It was a big project, but it felt so good to have done
it myself (well with a lot of his help). He also helped Tim hang some
more shelving in both of the boys closets. They both have big walk-in
closets with a lot of wasted space. It is so nice to have the new shelves.
Tim and his Dad also picked up the baby's furniture. We still have to
get the full size bed out of the room and the crib put together, but
things are coming along. Finally, Tim and his Dad replaced the light
over the kitchen island with a 3 pendant light. Unfortunately, the builders
did not center the original light over the island but centered it in the
middle of the room. This made for a much bigger project than expected.
It looks great though. We sure appreciated all of the help they gave us
during their visit. We sure miss not having them around all of the time,
but look forward to visiting them in the near future.
Here are some pictures from their visit.

Mason looking up at all of the
animals at the Rainforest Cafe.
He loved all of the animals, but
wasn't too crazy about the
thunderstorms.

Aunt Jen came into town to
celebrate her Dad's birthday
with all of us. It was so nice
to see her. Unfortunately,
we don't get together as often
as we would like too.
