My Dad
Early Thursday morning, my Dad woke up with severe abdominal pain. My Mom took him to the ER around 3am. They finally determined that he had a kink in his bowel cased by an internal hernia. They did surgery later that evening. Because they would have to look to see how everything was again on Friday, they did not stitch him up. He was under sedation, but had a terrible coughing fit around 11pm and opened everything up. His blood pressure fell and they had to give him some blood and other fluids. They also had to give him some medicine that would paralyze him. On Friday, around 5pm, they determined that it was OK to close him up. He was still on the meds, but they would slowly try and take him off of them as well as the ventilator. Dawn was in town to take family pictures for us along with another photo shoot, so the two of us (and our boys) went down to see Dad and be there with Mom. It was really hard to see Dad hooked up to all of the tubes and so swollen from the fluids. When he was awake, he was responsive, but you could tell VERY uncomfortable. We are just praying that he is able to be taking off the ventilator soon and will recover quickly. So please pray for my Dad and my Mom. I know she is exhausted and worries not only about Dad but all of us.

Your dad is in our thoughts. My mom told me they prayed for him in church today also.
We are all thinking of you and the rest of the family. Call me if you need anything. We love you! I'll try to call you Monday afternoon.
