What a great birthday!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Spencer!

Has it really been 2 years already? Spencer has been a true joy and blessing for all of us.

I love this image of Spencer. Absolutely amazing!

This picture was taken by my sister, Dawn, shortly after Spencer's birth.

At 3 months old

Another picture taken by my sister, Dawn. This is Spencer at 6 months old at my cousin's wedding.

Happy 1st Birthday!

At Nana and Grandpa's house in Florida, almost 18 months old.

Oh, so cute and such a stinker at 21 months. I love this boy!

This picture sums up Spencer at 2. Adorable and trouble.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Spencer! We love you so much!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

The boys were super excited to wake up to snow this morning. We didn't get hit hard like the east coast but had enough to cover the grass . It was good snow too. The kind you can pack into snowballs and build snowmen with. This was my kind of snow day, a nice 30 degrees and no wind. We bundled up this morning and went outside to play, well shovel. The boys had more fun shoveling then playing. Mason did make a snow angel and had fun throwing snowballs at Daddy and myself. I must say it was some good ole fashion family fun. Hope it sticks around for a white Christmas.

Counting Down the Days 'Til Spencer's 2nd Birthday and Christmas

We are keeping ourselves busy this month with lots of holiday cheer. I am pretty much finished shopping (which is probably a relief to my husband and our bank account). We have been spending the days doing crafts, wrapping gifts (for Christmas and for Spencer's birthday), making cookies, looking at Christmas lights, and watching our favorite Christmas movies (National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Charlie Brown Christmas, and our new favorite "Disney's Prep and Landing).

Winter Days

We are trying to keep busy on these cold winter days watching Christmas videos, drinking hot cocoa, making crafts, having play dates and playing in the snow. Here are a few pictures from the past week.

Mason couldn't wait to get out in snow on Monday. Later that day we watched Polar Express and drank hot cocoa.

Spencer got the chance to play in the snow while spending the morning with Ms. Sara and Lee on Tuesday.

While Mason was at school today, Spencer had fun painting and making a reindeer with his foot and handprints.

Mason had his buddy, Taylor over for a playdate last week. They wanted me to make them a fort.

Spencer's 2nd Birthday Party

We decided this year to celebrate Spencer's 2nd birthday with his buddies, Stephen and Noah. The 3 boys will turn 2 in the next month. We opted for a truck theme. It was so cute. I found darling plates and napkins and bought a new dump truck for their cake. I made a dirt cake (no eggs in this recipe) and filled the back of the truck. It was so stinkin cute. My cousin, Martha, brought construction hats for all of the kids and Elizabeth brought the goodie bags. Everyone brought food to share. It was so much fun.

So Thankful for Family

Tim and I were blessed to have my family here to give thanks with this year. So many things for us to be thankful in 2009. Welcoming our great-nephew, Daniel and niece, Fiona into this family and my dad's health top off our list of thanks. My dad finished his last chemo treatment the day before Thanksgiving. Praise God for our many blessings.

TRICK-OR-TREAT

It was a bit chilly this year, but the boys still enjoyed trick-or-treating. We went early (4:00) with our neighbors. Mason dressed up as an astronaut and Spencer went as Bob the Builder. The little pirate in the pictures is our neighbor/friend, Lee. Mason and Lee wasted no time running to each door while Spencer dragged behind (because he wanted to walk like a big boy). They all enjoyed getting treats and sampling (from the neighbors we know well) some along the way. After a few houses, Spencer and I headed home to pass out treats here. We were happy to come back to a warm house.
