First Appointment

Yesterday, I had my first pre-natal appointment. Everything went well. I like the doctor, she seems very personable (although I do wish I had the same doctor from my first pregnancy, he was truly the best and voted one of the best in Cincinnati). I was a little disappointed, she will only do one ultra sound around 20 weeks, unless for some reason there would be a medical issue that would require another one (I was lucky to have 3 ultrasounds with Mason). I go back on the 21st of June. I'll keep you updated. I am finding that my pants are already snug and uncomfortable to wear. I guess I'll be in maternity clothes much sooner this time. Hopefully, I won't gain too much weight (although she said she would like to see me gain between 25 and 35 pounds, yikes!) Well, I keep everyone updated.

PS Natalie, I hope you are feeling well. Are you going to find out the sex of the baby here soon? Can't wait to get an update. Take care.

More drama at our house

Monday morning, I was getting ready so that Mason and I could take a walk and play at the park. All of a sudden I heard a cry from Maoson's room. He decided that he needed to get Poppy (his dog, Pottery) and paci from his bed, and managed to fall after climbing the rail (b/c Poppy and paci "were far, far away.") His mouth was bleeding and he was crying. It was hard to tell exactly where the blood was coming from, but I managed to get the bleeding to stop with a popcicle. I finished getting ready and we went on our walk. When we got back, I noticed Mason messing with his teeth and by now I could get a better look. I could tell that he had bumped his top teeth and gums. Of course, I went into panic mode and called Tim. We finally got a hold of a pediatric dentist and we took him there after his nap. The good news is that he didn't fracture anything. The bad news is that he did bump the top 4 teeth and the top middle tooth is loose. There is a chance the the nerves in all 4 teeth may die and his teeth could darken. Of course, this makes me extremely sad. The doctor told me not to feel guilty. She said she sees at least one child a week who has done something similar. We will take him back in 2 weeks and again in 3 months for follow-ups and a cleaning. Let's hope there will be no more drama in this house for a long time. I don't think I can take it.

Mother's Day

I had a very nice Mother's Day. We picked up Tim's parents and went to the Brookfield Zoo. Mason absolutely loved it and lasted a majority of the day. Afterwards, we went back to the Lee's before going to dinner. It was a very nice day. I will try and post pictures later.

Mason's results

This past Monday we took Mason to the hospital for an ultrasound of his heart. He was such a good boy. He laid on the bed for 30 minutes while the nurse checked him out. She did a good job explaining to him what she was going to do each step of the way. Well, today our doctor's office called and said that everything was fine. Thank goodness and thanks to everyone who's been keeping us in their thoughts and prayers. We greatly appreciate the love and support.

Interesting event.......

I didn't just sit around and figure this out on my own, I read it on a message board. Pretty interesting, so thought I'd share.

Tim and I are looking forward to spending the weekend downtown. His parents are sending us to the Drake Hotel for our Anniversary. I can't wait to go out with my husband alone. We have needed a night out for a long time.

A Big Heart

Back a few weeks ago, Mason had pneumonia. His doctor did an xray to confirm the pneumonia and then had another xray taken 2 weeks later. At this time. the pneumonia was all clear, but it appears that Mason's heart is somewhat enlarged. His doctor doesn't seem overly concerned because he is growing normally and his heart has always sounded fine. The hospital called today to schedule an ultrasound of his heart. We are taking him Monday morning. Although, it may be nothing, I would appreciate good thoughts and prayers our way. I always knew he had a big heart, he is the most loving child. I'll update everyone with the results when I get them.

Un-EXPECTING news

God doesn't give you more than you can handle, so I guess he thinks that a new addition to our family is within our limits. Yep, we're expecting. It was not planned but we will be very excited to give Mason a little brother or sister. Let's just hope that Tim's job opportunities will come through. There is a good chance that we will be moving further north (yet still stay in Illinois). Hopefully, we will know something for sure soon so that we can get the house on the market and so I can find a new doctor.
