It was our turn to host our biweekly play date. I decided it would be fun for everyone to make their own pizza for lunch. I think the kids enjoyed doing this. They were very tasty.
I don't know about the rest of you, but we have truly been loving the nice weather. It is so nice to spend the days outdoors. I even got sun burnt yesterday. Didn't realize we had been out for so long and sunscreen didn't enter my mind at 10:00 am. I'll remember next time.
Yesterday, we spent the morning outside with our neighbors. Mason and Sophia enjoyed playing together and having a picnic in the yard.
Our neighbor, Krista, and her son, Hunter came over one day last week for lunch and playtime.

On another note, my cousin, Dave, got engaged last Thursday. He is such a great guy and I know that Katie makes him very happy. His proposal was pretty special so I am going to share with all of you (I don't think he'll mind if I do). This is the email he sent out to all of his family and friends:
All,
I finally got the plan completed and the fruit of many many hours of planning, work, and coordination fell into place Thursday night. I asked Katie to marry me.
I had a pretty elaborate plan that spanned over many months. I bought the ring, but couldn't pick it up until yesterday. So I had a few weeks that I had to "distract" Katie from thinking that I bought the ring already. We went ring shopping one other time, but "it was too expensive" was my only response. I also told her that she was pressuring me every time she brought it up.... just so I could build-up more excitement. But it was all part of the master plan. I needed time to make the scrapbook, which was the method for how I was going to ask her. I know she always eats dinner at her parents before she went to Mentor (something she does in her spare time). So I took half-day vacation and drove up to surprise her. I had to park down the street so she wouldn't see my car and wrote her parents an email earlier in the week to see if I could come for a surprise dinner with them that night. They didn't know that I would propose that way. So when I got there, I asked for their blessing and reviewed the high-level plan with them. I was really excited and nervous that it would go the way I wanted it to. When she got there, they would give her the book and say "Look what David gave to us." As Katie looked thru the pages, she would understand a little about what the book was about... us and the time we've spent together so far and how happy we make each other. So with each picture that was in chronological order, I had "choice" words with their definitions. The last word was "Question: An act or instance of asking" and then there was an envelop; within it said, "I have a question to ask you... ". The parents were in on "The Plan" and said they would cough when she got to that point and I would come out of the other room and be able to get on my knee and ask her to make me the happiest man in the world. To top the excited/nervous/anxious feelings off, I hadn't really slept well for the last week because of my excitement for the day that was coming. Pretty cool, huh? Looking forward to their wedding and my cousin, Laura's (she's getting married next month). I feel blessed to be part of such a wonderful family. I think it is so cool that all of my cousins are still close and keep in touch as adults. I hope all of you are as blessed.
One cute thing Mason said after talking about all of these upcoming weddings. "Mommy, when I get big, I am going to marry you, OK?" I sure love that boy.
