New Bike

Last week, Mason's preschool was taking donations of baby/kid items for their annual garage sale. We donated a lot of toys that the boys have outgrown. The money they raise helps support his school and keep the tuition cost down. I was able to volunteer my time on Tuesday. It was nice to spend time and get to know some of the other parents. Anyhow, I ended up buying Mason a new bike for just $10. The poor kid has been riding a trike still and was ready for a big boy bike. I couldn't pass up the good deal and he was soooooo very excited. We went straight to Walmart for some training wheels. Our neighbor, Steve, was kind enough to put on the training wheels. I think it may be the best $10 I will have spent this year. He loves it.

Easter 2009

It was a beautiful Easter this year. Mason was up bright and early (nothing out of the ordinary for him) and was ready to see if the Easter bunny made it to our house. Sure enough we came down to find Easter eggs all over the family room (some out in the open and some hidden). Also, the baskets were hidden. It took Mason a good 20+ minutes to find his. After that we made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and put Spencer down for a quick nap before church. The church was packed. They ended up offering 2 services, one in the church and one in the school's gymnasium. We ended up in the gym. I guess 25 minutes early wasn't enough. After church, we came home and enjoyed playing outside before lunch. It was beautiful. I missed out on a good ham dinner. Tim is not a fan of ham and opted to grill some steaks. It was such a nice day.

Easter Egg Hunt

This past Saturday, we had a little Easter egg hunt with our neighbors. The three boys had fun, although I think Mason found most of the eggs. Spencer and Lee weren't quite sure what to do.

Conversation between Mason and I

Mason: "Mommy, I love you too much!"

Mommy: "I love you too much"

Mason: "I think I love you more."

Mommy: "I love you the most."

Mason: "I love you to the moon and back."

GOOSE EGG

My poor boy fell and bumped his head on the coffee table. Immediately a goose egg appeared and tears were streaming down. I was so scared to see his forehead swell. I had Tim get ice and a lollipop. I figured if I let Spencer suck on a lollipop I would be able to hold the ice on longer. I called my friend, Elizabeth (she's a registered nurse) and asked for advise. We checked his pupils~they were good, the same size and reacted to light. He appeared fine and about an hour later he went to bed. I checked in on him twice and stirred him to make sure he was OK. I then said prayers that he would be OK and sure enough he woke up at 1am crying. I guess that was God's way of answering my prayers. He still has a little swelling and of course, bruising. A very scary moment for mommy and daddy.

Spring is in the air

We had such a wonderful weekend, spending most of it outside. It was 50 to 60 this past weekend and should get up to 70 tomorrow. Mason wanted to stay outside the whole day. There was no time to stop for lunch or dinner, in his mind. He played basketball, baseball, golf, and Frisbee. Spencer also loves the freedom of the outdoors. He wanted to join in the basketball game and had fun running up and down the sidewalks. Hope you all could get outside and enjoy this beautiful springlike weather.

Parent-Teacher Conference

This morning I had my conference with Mason's teacher. It went very well. I am so very proud of him. I love that he loves school and loves his teachers. The one area that he needs to work on is not interrupting (although he always interrupts with such good manners, he never forgets to say excuse me). Tim and I knew that talking would be his issue. If he has something that he wants to tell you he will say excuse me until you respond. We are working on patiently waiting to be acknowledged before saying excuse me again. His teacher said that he really does have great manners and really enjoys having him in class. I hope his love for school and learning continues on.

Playdate with our friend's the D*s. We haven't been able to get together that often this winter, someone has always been sick. Spencer had fun seeing his buddy, S* and Mason had fun playing with C* and C*.

We had a bridal shower to attend for my cousin's fiance. It was nice having a girls day out with my sisters, mom, and niece. They stopped by the house afterwards to see the boys.
